AS,

Re: Same thing happened with Clinton in NH in 1992. No one remembers Tsongas won it, just the comeback kid 8% behind.

The difference between then and now is that Tsongas won the New Hampshire primarily because of name recognition in a state that neighbored his own. I fail to see how the situation today is comparable in the least. Kerry and Dean both have pretty good name recognition in New Hampshire. So, that won't be the deciding factor.

As far as politics is concerned, Dean is positioning himself quite well on matters such as gun control (i.e. let the states handle it), while Kerry is going to get whacked by the NRA crowd who resent his one-size-fits-all urban gun control approach.

And when it comes to rock-ribbed fiscal conservatism, Dean wins hands down in New Hampshire, where the voters can see the results of Dean's decade of fiscal responsibility, vis a vis Kerry's record of aiding and abetting the largest Federal deficits in the history of the nation with his uneven voting record in Washington, D.C.
