< I was almost killed by a gang of Greenpeace fanatics in Faslane Scotland.>
Why did they do that? Can you provide some context? Beating people up is not (or, I guess I should say, is not officially) one of their approved tactics.
Their official policy (from their homepage, About Us):
<We use research, lobbying, and quiet diplomacy to pursue our goals, as well as high-profile, non-violent conflict to raise the level and quality of public debate.>
In any large dispersed organization, there are going to be people who don't follow the group's rules. If the organization is competent and honest, such people should be identified, re-trained, disciplined, and expelled if that doesn't work.
I've had contact with Greenpeace people in the U.S. (not overseas). I've never been a member, although I'm considering joining. Any group I'd join has to use only nonviolent methods, and rigorously enforce that ethic. Convince me that your accusation is real, and I won't join them. I'm serious. |
