Perhaps things could have been a lot worse if they kept the Army together?

We were too concerned about the Sunni Officers. But we would have been better off with them. As of now, some of them are fighting us.

I look upon this as a good learning situation. This won't be the last Muslim country we will ever occupy. It is going to be a long, hard, slog to stop the terrorism. We could have learned from the British records during the Victorian age. And from the Israeli's experience in the West Bank. We are making a lot of the same mistakes they made at the start.
