I had lunch with a former colleague yesterday. She spend most of the lunch telling me about the diversity training that she and her colleagues had just attended. My first reaction to it was to the simple fact that they were still doing diversity training. That's just so nineties. <g>

I imagine that, likewise, schools spend a lot of time and effort and money on peripheral stuff at the expense of the three R's. Kids need to read Huckleberry Finn and learn algebra, IMO.
