While military experience is not needed to prosecute a war, It's helpful knowledge to have, so that one can avoid wars. You've underscored my point that we should not have people that do not intimately know the horror of war, designing them, or advocating them.

War is sometimes necessary, and sometimes it comes knocking at your door as an uninvited guest, but war should never be drawn out on the blackboard as a means to kick off a socio-political experiment. A pre-emptive war where innocents will be killed today to ensure that tomorrow we'll have a government more to our liking in power. One that we will have direct influence over for decades, thereby controlling the oil resource through the guise of Iraqi self government.

No, I don't think that this is wise policy to pursue.

A far wiser policy would have been to begin to develop alternative energy sources. That way you don't need to kill 10,000 innocent Iraqis.
