Jeff,

Being an obsessed boater, in fact considering switching from a Cigarette to a Fountain this time, I can only respond to the obvious answer.

Brunswick Corp is the parent company of Mercury Marine that supplies the bulk of the drivetrains Fountain and many other performance boat manufacturers use.

Now, if anything, I would guess that with this Fabio/ Seatek/Fountain Racing business has caused a bit of a wedge realizing Fabio certainly got involved to sell his drivetrains. However, my guess is that they will be used more for the large performance cruisers in development. It is notworthy that the Merc/Fountain has proved extremely profitable for both parties and doubt either would want to 'rock the boat' so to say.

There have been many rumors over the years of special support to Fountain from Brunswick/Merc. From extended credit and special pricing to racing engines out the back-door, these are quite normal between vendors and their top buyers. Also, for years I have heard that Brunwick/Merc wouldn't mind owning Fountain to ensure that their product dominance continues with the boat builder. However, IMHO, if they were that serious, they would have done it when the rest of the industry was still in this consolidation mode and FPWR was at 1-7/8 a share as it was just a couple of years ago. Obviously, this means nothing if the stock has a serious correction.

Hope this somewhat answers your question...
