Allen, I have to admit that Rush had a way of delivering his reports, and opinions, that was a little bit over the edge. He was once the publicity guy for the Kansas City Royals, and I guess he figured he had to do everything in the tone of a used car salesman.
I am a "voting" life long conservative Republican, and voted for Barry Goldwater in 1964. Rush may have said somethings that were questionable, but not very many of the facts he presented were actually wrong. Unfortunately, there are a lot of skeletons in any politicians closet that will never be brought out into the open unless someone kind of like Rush takes the risk of exposing such things as they are leaked out. Yes, he is one-sided, but I have never talked to a liberal that was not way off the deep end when it came to shooting off their mouths, so it is a bit like tit for tat on that issue.
The main problem, as I see it, for whatever it's worth, there is corruption an just about every faction in America now. In MHO, the culprit is greed running rampant. People in, both high, and low, places seem to think it is OK to do anything for a buck. That is going to cause the moral fiber of the nation to shred like Exxon's financial reports.
Many of the conservatives I have known, will acknowledge the point of an opponent if it rings true, and has merit. Maybe it doesn't happen often. If every conservative was like me, a liberal would think he was talking to a Missouri mule. I'm just a little bit right of Attila the Hun. Trite saying I know, but I like it. |
