| A major attack against the Us at this point would be blamed on the Bush administration. While such attacks are not, imo, able to be prevented- because the terrorists have the advantage of being able to strike anywhere, at any time, and it's a big country, Bush would be blamed for it anyway- "He knew it was coming- why weren't we protected?" It's not fair, but I'd place a good wager that's what people would say. On top of that, people would blame the war for provoking the terrorism, and that's not an unreasonable claim to make. I doubt we'd get much world support this time around either, because they'd think we provoked it with out war in Iraq, and many countries see us as the aggressor (which we were, imo), and it's hard to feel sorry for an aggressor, even if the aggressor thinks he has a really good reason to be aggressive. |
