I wonder how much this number was inflated by the price of lumber?

I was buying plywood over the weekend from the neighborhood superstore, and commented on the outrageous price (thinking it was high due to the fires in California). The sales-guy said that plywood was in short supply due to the HUGE (his word) orders from the Government for shipment to Iraq. The California fires will cause prices to go even higher, but haven't yet.

I guess my point is that construction spending might be artificially high, without an increase in actual construction.
