TheTruthseeker Announces Free Zicam to Rev Shark and all TheStreet.com Employees, Friends and Family.

11/03/2003 Dateline Silicon Investor RE: Matrixx Initiative Inc (MTXX)

Retailed at drugstore.com for $8.99 TheTruthseeker will suppy to Rev Shark and all TheStreet.com Employees, Friends and Family Zicam Cold Relief (a $8.99 Value) absolutly free and TheTruthseeker will pay for the bill.

Imagine giving Zicam that reduces the Duration of the common cold in 1.5 days to your 3 year old kid as the back of the Zicam Box says (with adult supervision).

As.a cautionary note just disregard the research by the leader in his field Dr.Bruce W. Jafek who made the following conclusion: "The recent extension of the use of Zicam® to the pediatric age group is particularly alarming since the group is less likely to be able to describe the anosmia. Immediate discontinuation of the use of intranasal zinc is recommended."

Why listen to Leaders in the field of Medicine when you can listen to the inventor of ZICAM who had a diploma Mill Pd.D/MBA R. Steven Davidson?

Zicam® Induced Anosmia

Introduction: Zinc is extensively utilized throughout the body, supporting the activity of approximately 100 enzymes, the immune system, wound healing, the sense of taste and smell, and DNA synthesis. Zinc supports normal growth and development. The deleterious effects of both deficiency and toxicity (acute and chronic) are described. Beneficial zinc absorption tales place via enteral, parenteral, or cutaneous routes. Direct application to the olfactory epithelium, on the other hand, has long been known to be toxic, producing anosmai. This toxicity is thought to be due to the direct effect of the divalent zinc ions on olfactory receptor cells. Apparently overlooking this toxicity, however, intranasal Zicam® (Zinc gluconate) has recently been recommended as a treatment for the common cold.

Methods: We will present a series of patients with post-Zicam® anosmia. The mechanism of drug toxicity will be analyzed.

Results: While interindividual variation n drug response and drug toxicity is apparent, post Zicam® anosmia appears to be dose-related and permanent

Conclusion:Zinc ions remain toxic to human olfactory epithelium, and continued reports of total, probably irreversible, asomia, can be expected as long as intranasal zinc gluconate gel (Zicam®)continues to be used. The recent extension of the use of Zicam® to the pediatric age group is particularly alarming since the group is less likely to be able to describe the anosmia. Immediate discontinuation of the use of intranasal zinc is recommended.
