Actually, I have repeatedly posted that the events around 1948 should be considered a reciprocal transfer of populations, rather than an ethnic cleansing by just the Israelis.

Not very different to what happened in 1947 between India and Pakistan. At the time it was probably considered ethnic cleansing (which led to lotsa killings on both sides), but in hindsight it was not - today India's muslim population is more than the population of Pakistan. Bottom line, those that chose to cross the new border did so, those that did not choose to do so did not - and they are now part of mainstream population in both countries.
