I haven't "forgotten" the Islamic militants. Or Afghanistan. The problem as I see it (to repeat for what seems like the umpteenth time, but nevermind....) is that taking out Saddam at this time was not particularly helpful in waging the war against those militants. In fact, Saddam used to be their enemy too. That fact could have been used the US, but instead, the Bush admin indulged their fantasies, the desire for revenge, perhaps their guilt over not finishing the job in '91, and their election strategy.

The war against the people who we both agree are our enemy would be farther along if they hadn't indulged those things, if they had worked with other countries instead of bribing or bullying them, if they had remained focused on the real enemy of the moment and not Iraq.

That's reality buddy.
