The reality is you are trying to play politics with dead soldiers.. And that's utterly contemptible.

And I see the reality as the Bush admin playing politics with this Iraq action in general, and with the soldiers that he sent to Iraq in particular. And that is utterly contemptible.

It is amazing to me that I talk about Saddam and Osama being enemies and you replay by saying that "is why paid he $25,000 to the families of Islamic militants who committed suicide bombings, right?" You are mixing up your militants here. Osama rarely if ever mentioned the Palestineans (that is the group that Saddam was paying the money to) in his rants until after 9/11. They had nothing to do with each other.

Look, I supported Bush in his Afghanistan bombings. I would have supported sending troops into Afghanistan to clean up the warlords. Heck, I would have supported sending troops into Pakistan to chase Al Qaeda down.

KEEP THE FOCUS ON AL QAEDA. STOP CONFUSING THE ISSUE WITH IRRELEVANCIES. The only things the Palestineans, the Iraqis and Al Qaeda have in common are that they are all Arabs. They hvae their own issues. Yes, I am willing to grant that Saddam paid off Palestinean militants. I didn't like that. It is a good thing that they aren't getting that money anymore--I am glad about that. But it is precisely because I take the Al Qaeda threat seriously, and as the MOST seriously threat against the US and the West generally, that I oppose the Iraqi business as a distraction from that.

First things first. We didn't have a problem with that when Iran was deemed the primary enemy back in the 80s.
