So, are you saying that relative taxation across domestic income strata is an important determinant of international trade competitiveness or that the absolute level of taxation of the "working classes" is too high?

If the former, please explain. I don't see the connection.

If the latter, then domestic "fairness" (i.e. progressivity) has nothing to do with it. You appear to be suggesting (again) that we do away with social security, which action most pols would say would hurt the "working classes" much more than the "leisure or investor class." So, are you saying that making our workers poorer to help our trade balance with China is a good idea?
