I remember Vietnam
The only things missing right now are the mass demonstrations against the war. My conclusion is that MOST Americans have changed and are no longer interested in peace or holding their govt accountable. I find myself smiling when I see the helicopters shot down, not because I'm bloodthirsty or anything but I just believe that he who lives by the sword shall die by it.

When Bush says he won't retreat, we know this isn't the way its going to end up. He will have to leave because the people in Iraq don't want him there. I'm surprised that even CNN is running stories that confirm that it's not communists ....oooops terrorists that are causing the troubles but the average Iraqi, most of whom secretly harbor ill will both to Saddam AND the Americans. Every war monger has to find an 'ist' as a target and blame them for all their problems.

What I can't figure out is how Bush originally said this mission was to unseat Saddam but instead they bomb and destroy the whole damn place and won't leave now even though originally he said the US would leave after Saddam is gone. WELL isn't it obvious that Bush doesn't want to find Saddam ? He's a convenient target to keep alive.
