Shias and Kurds will fight the triangle with sunni baathist perhaps wahabist leanings. With US, Turkey and Iran on the side of the shias and kurds the Baathists would ultimately lose.
We need to concentrate on securing badgad(again). Let Tikrit and Faluja be the center of a shrunken triangle. We probably need more troops too. We must make self protection job 1. We must allow kurds and shias to take more control of their areas. And we must launch an intelligence counterattack by locating saddam and killing or preferably capturing him. This is not an easy task I know. But premature withdrawl would be a disaster so we must think a bit out of the box. As i have stated in earlier posts, i am postulation alternate tactics. We need alternate tactics here and we must protect our troops better than we have. Mike
