People don't need a monitary encouragement to breed. If we run short of educated folks to tax and do the work, we can open the immigration gates and have an entrance exam (like calling it a work visa where the companies that need workers bring them in.)

Just because families are "nice" doesn't mean they should get "help" from tax payers. What about old folks? I may have to take care of my parents in a few yrs... Shouldn't I get the same deductions for that as you want for kids? My mom taught kids for 30 yrs in one of the lowest income school districts in the Bay Area. I'd think a deduction for taking care of her would be a "nice thing" to do.
