That's because no one knows what he said in private. If what he reportedly actually said came from an authorized biography, I think it's reasonable to assume that either they were his actual words or they were at least close enough to suit Nancy. What he said was: "maybe the Lord brought down this plague" because "illicit sex is against the Ten Commandments." The script had him saying "They that live in sin shall die in sin." ? I don't see all that much difference between the two. How does the script misrepresent him sufficiently to warrant a claim that it's a smear?
