I just listened to the call. EMC surprised Mcdata with pricing demands in October, the last mont of Mcdata's quarter. Then Mcdata did not immediately give in, so orders did not come in from Emc. Now, supposedly, some of the issues have been resolved for this quarter, but EMC (or Mcdata) can bring up the issues again each quarter.
The CEO did not sound enthusiastic. He maintains the Mcdata technology is great, and there is good demand, but EMC held back orders.
My question is, what happens going forward? I think EMc is going to keep squeezing Mcdata. Too bad EMC is such a huge percentage of revenue for Mcdta. I think this issue severely limits the short term opportunity for superior growth at Mcdata. imho wj
