Lizzie I was all hyped up a year ago about Mission bay SF.
sfgov.org You are talking about existing new construction like the condo's and such? That's what I was checking prices on several months ago. Like 'The Glass Works' across form Pac Bell Park as recall 500k - 1m+ for top floor. It has location specially if you get a bay view, a must for me.

If I buy in it'll have to be prepared to stay for sometime, I'm not there yet financially. The area and idea of living there leaves me kind of heady so my gut is talking I suppose. "Check out the Amenities window for The Glass Works." There must be 15-20 places to eat or drink within a five minute walk. For a place to live I really like it but as a straight investment it's not my ideal. I need property that has what I call a 'back door'. There has to be room for me to improve the value, other than time, for me to call it an investment.

I was hoping Oakland would move their baseball arena downtown and do something similar to Pac Bell. But now the mayor's pushing for all housing downtown. In Oakland pre stadium/pre redevelopment I felt I could find something that would appeal to me as an investment and maybe a home down the road. But with all the killings and such I don't think they'll get their act together. Shame, if done right Oakland could price out all the killers. There must be six or so large sites Oakland's considering redevelopment. On or near the water is a big plus but I wanted that stadium so I could stroll to a game now and then. O' well.

ps: I backed of that piece I was telling you about. I can't justify selling what I'm holding to buy. What I'd have to sell has too much potential. Plus I committed myself to less debt last year. Sixteen more months and I can free up cash again. That's more or less my original plan. Make a plan keep a plan. But I got the itch that's for sure.
