Thousands of Iranians marked the 24th anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran by chanting anti-American slogans and burning U.S. and Israeli flags.

I wonder whether they would be celebrating had we taken appropriate action, at the time, to solve the problem -- rather than allowing our nation to be held hostage for more than a year.

But one more example of why you never want to elect a damned Democrat as president. Weak, weak, liberals have long-term consequences for our nation.

If George Bush had been president on that fateful day, I don't think they'd be celebrating.
