You couldn't fill a phone booth with progressive, white men over 40 in most of the deep South. Gore was right to blow them off and he still WON! ...please find a "true" gun owner/collector who is truly progressive! They are 90% right-leaning types anyway. The "gun" thing is just a cop out, like abortion is for the Evengelicals. The issue is just something hard & fast that they can cling on to for dear life -- wherein it provides a self-imposed distraction from nearly ALL the other meaningful issues that the GOP has/is generally on the wrong side of. THREE ISSUES that win elections in USA: JOBS EDUCATION GENERAL MORAL STANDING (i.e., integrity, "selfless" honor & compassion) -JH
