They were lucky to get what they got. They got 56% of Palestine

If you don't count desert territory I think they got less then 50%.

a land where they did not live in earnest until the 20th century.

Which started a couple of generations before the creation of Israel. They did live their "in earnest" at the time of the partition.

In fact, it wasn't until 1900 that Theodor Herzl, THE proponent for the Jewish state, set up the International Jewish Fund which raised the money so that Zionists could buy Palestinian land.

1900 is 47 years before Israel became a country.

We paid Mexico good $$$ for TX.............$10 million if I remember correctly.

We paid them $15 mil, not sure if that's just for TX or TX and more. But we didn't give them a choice in the matter.

But I wasn't talking about the settlement after the Mexican American war, or the war itself, or the annexation of Texas by the US. I'm talking about 10 years earlier when Americans, who had moved in to Texas over a number of years, revolted against Mexico and became an independent country. They got 100% of the territory in question (Texas) even though they had not be a serious presence for as long as the Israelis has been a serious presence in Israel/Palestine before 1947.

BS. You hardly make a point when the amount of land is .5% or less.

If you say "they didn't own land" and they owned .5% then your statement is false. Also your statement was about 1920 but they owned more then .5% by then.

.what of the thousands of generations of Arabs that farmed and ranched the land? They were dirt poor. The Zionists had access to money raised by the International Jewish Fund in Europe.

So since they are poor they should be given the land even if they didn't own it before (because it was owned by Turks, or non-Palestinian Arabs or Europeans), or if they owned it and sold it to the Jews?

Why should Israel be more continguous than Palestine? Are the Israelis better so they deserve a better deal?

Any deal that leaves Israel as insecure as they where in 47 is simply a non-starter. To even go back to the pre-67 borders Israel is giving up a lot while the Palestinians are basically only giving up dreams that they where not going to realize anyway.
