You think Arnold won because of what party he is in? Not quite. He won because he is a moderate Republican and because there was no primary to give the right-wingers a chance to eliminate anyone who could actually win a statewide election. California voters clearly rejected both the Democrat governor AND the top Democrat candidate in favor of a moderate Republican. Had the state GOP any sense, they'd have nominated Riordan the last go-around and there'd have been no recall. If they learn from this, CA could stay Republican for a while.
