Healthscreen product approved by e-Physician project

2003-11-05 18:57 ET - News Release

Mr. Bruce Rosenberg reports

HEALTHSCREEN APPROVED BY ePHYSICIAN PROJECT

Healthscreen's electronic health record product has been approved and certified by the e-Physician project in Ontario. Healthscreen was among the first group of EHR vendors to be tested and approved. The e-Physician project conducted the validation on behalf of its project partners (the Ontario Medical Association, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Family Health Network) to certify clinical management systems for use by Ontario physicians.

According to Glenn Holder, executive lead for the ePP, "Approved CMS solutions will offer Ontario's physicians a choice of products that meet a high standard, enabling both short-term practice benefits as well as providing the right tools to enhance patient care in the long term."

The government of Ontario has pledged $150-million to subsidize physicians who are members of a family health network if they purchase certified products such as Healthscreen. The company is poised to capture a major share of this $150-million based on the facts that it has one of the few certified EHR products available and that the company is strongly positioned as the pre-eminent EHR supplier in the marketplace.
