Bringing justice and peace to the middle east first demanded the removal of Saddam Hussein and his Bathist regime.

So our objective was bringing peace to the ME, not fighting terrorism, as stated. Well, that would sure explain the dissonance. Here I've been trying to figure out how Iraq was the best way to meet the stated objectives when all I had to do was reverse the process and infer a different objective. Thanks for the insight.

Now all I have to do is assess why the deception on the stated objectives... ;)
