You can continue to allege that anyone who objects to PBAs lacks compassion or respect for others all you want. It is a false arguement based on false premise and base meanness...but feel free to rant. The issue is not centered on compassion it is centered on a perspective of what is a woman's right, and what will happen to that perspective when PBAs are banned. It is based on fear of loss. The real question is whether or not that fear is based on something that is founded on anything valid. I don't think it is and I care deeply about human suffering whether it is a child who is disappointed in competition or more earth shaking tragedy. But if it makes you feel better to couch everthing you say in personal judgemental finger pointing (as spurious as it is), that is your 'right'.

Animals are not human. I have observed a lot of people who personify their pets and treat them like substitute children or family members.

The compassionate PETA type people are typically anti-human interests. I don't find the people who are so compassionate about pets (like the woman who spent millions 'rescuing' a few dogs in Iraq to bring them to the United states for adoption) to be compassionate and carring about human issues. I find people like this to be self centered in regard to 'rights' which is not compassionate, but deparate to be labeled as compassionate. The outcry about PBA "rights" reveals more Me Me Me than it does any concern for what is essentially a respect for humanness, individual human beings, or humanity at large.
