But you agree there were intelligence failures and abuses?

Do you agree on the primary issues:

a) Iran was a democratic country

b) The US intel services overthrew Iran

That slippery slope demands investigation of other similar instances.

Bottom line, anyone or agency that demands secrecy must likewise accept responsibility when those are eventually declassified. What bothers me is the lack of responsibility for actions taken under the rubric of "US interests" that were done in secret, without citizen representation except the Executive Branch.

Our "Royal Presidency" has become the be-all and end-all of authority for these adventures, unlike anything envisioned by the Framers.

Only since 2000 have some of these 45-year old documents become classified. That's too long to wait if we're being lied to in the meantime, imo.
