Putting a dumb animal out of its misery when it becomes lame is far different than putting a child to death when it has become disabled. The two are not equally humane.

I don't know how you got it into your head that I want to kill lame children. I said that we should treat humans AT LEAST AS HUMANELY AS we treat animals. I cannot imagine how one could argue with that. I didn't say we should treat humans LIKE animals. I don't want to feed kids cat food or put flea collars on them or shoot them when they break their legs. Perhaps you've caught that speed-reading syndrome.

Treating humans as humanely as we treat animals means being respectful enough to avoid pointless suffering. This is not some new-age concept. Kosher and halal are based in part on not causing undue suffering. I recall that you watched old cowboy shows. You may recall that in them even the guys in the black hats spent a bullet to kill a lame horse rather than leave it to die slowly. It is inhumane to do less.

I am not comfortable with the comparisons you are making.

Think about that before you "allege" that I'm some kind of Nazi...
