Bias in the media thoughtfully explained.........

Moonves is the Head of CBS. His first contact on the movie was when he viewed it last week. The way this went down is that the head of Programming approved a concept for the movie. The script got written and past the lawyers. It was assigned to a Producer, everybody was hired, and the movie was made.

The problem was that there was not one person in this process that was "Pro-Reagan." They were all Liberals. So they saw nothing wrong with what they were doing. When it finally hit the light of day, the shit hit the fan.

This is a major problem in the media. Roger Ailes, Chairman of Fox News, pointed out in an article I read recently that there was not one Female Media person in New York who would admit to being "Pro-Life." Yet polls show that 60% of the country is "Pro-Life." How do you expect an evenhanded presentation when those kind of prejudices exist?

Let me give you an example from today's news. The "Chicago Tribune just ran some stories on the Abortion bill that Bush signed. The Headlines all read, "Anti-Choice Groups Win." The accepted terminology is "Pro Life" to the oppositions, "Pro Choice." They caught hell about it. Here is the URL to the story. chicagotribune.com.

One-sided hiring in the media leads to these type of presentations. Movies, TV, all the media only hires one viewpoint on Social and Economic issues. You are so used to it that when Talk Radio and Fox came along with a different outlook, you think the sky is falling.
