Yiwu, when one is self-determining, that means external influences don't have an effect. I take 'writing own history' to mean there are no significant external influences. It's quite obvious that China's history in recent centuries has been very heavily affected by external agents.

You obviously mean something different from what your words imply to me.

China was not like Maoris in New Zealand before the arrival of Europeans. Maoris totally wrote their own history until Cook's arrival, and the swarms of Europeans who followed. Since then, Maori history has been a small subset of New Zealand's history.

Now, China is writing our history too, as swarms of them maraud over the place. Downtown Auckland is looking increasingly Chinese. Made in China is everywhere too.

I have no idea what you mean by China writing its own history.
