Lind's article points to ominous factors indeed.

I know neither of us can "prove" one way or the other that there are no good options in Iraq.

But I don't see any. We're on a fool's errand there, and, to compound our difficulties, we are jeopardizing the real war on terrorism, on Al Qaeda, and tying ourselves down in that extremely unfortunate country, Iraq.
