You are the first person I have had on the thread that has come out for bug out. Interesting.
I'm not totally there yet. It scares the sh-t out of me, contemplating the possible consequences. I certainly don't think we can just pull up and leave. I also think McCain is right when he said (on Nightline just now) that a poorly trained Iraqi army won't beat a well trained insurgent force (presuming of course that they are well trained--some of them clearly are, from the look of recent attacks, how many of them are there is the question).

But I don't see good things happening if we stay either. The question is, which is worse. And under what conditions might it be possible to internationalize the military operation, if any? It is no panacea, for sure. But it would be preferable to trying to do this alone.
