Re: "I firmly believe that the Iraqis are responsible for dealing with their leader and the Americans are responsible for dealing with Bush. I don't want anyone else dealing with Bush but us. I suspect the Iraqis feel the same way.

Does that make any sense to you?"

Yes, it makes good sense to me. I firmly believe that people should decide for themselves what they want and not let others tell them what's best for them.

Of course not, because the Iraqi people were powerless against him, and today 80% of them are glad we came to get rid of him.

Powerless? No one is ever powerless? The ME doesn't have a a lot of democracies not because the people are powerless but because democracy is not on the top of the peoples' wish list. With the exception of Israel, democracy has never flourished in the ME.

Big surprise, huh, libertarian guy? Just because we want democracy does not mean that's what everyone else wants. You might want to ask yourself why.

As for the 80%, that's a new one on me. I checked the ABC link you provided the other poster and there was no mention
of 80%. What I've read is that 65% want us gone within the year.

Re: "They(the right) firmly believe that might makes right and when people don't respond accordly, they blame themselves and everyone else for not being mightier."

Interesting. The fact is that we exhibited a lack of action and got clobbered for THAT! Might doesn't make right, justified self-defense does, however.

And we're right back to square one. An example of our self defense was not the pre-emptive attack on Iraq.
