APC: According to yesterday's Dow Jones, APC announced they'll cut back some of their far-flung operations:

"The oil and gas independent has been struggling with the costs of its international program. Streamlining the operations could help the company boost earnings and appease investors who have been eyeing the cost of finding oil and gas reserves in remote locations..."

The vp of exploration was quoted as saying, "We've got to do a better job of delivering value to our shareholders, we know that."

This (assuming mgmt. can deliver bottom-line results here), plus APC's relatively low p/e, relatively low p/bk signal a buy for me. Imo, there's some hope the stock might move from near its lows now up closer to its highs again, maybe within a year or so.
