Clinton had nothing but success economically. Biggest job growth in our lifetimes, prosperity for everyone not just the rich and well-connected. As Clnton was leaving office, the Bushies hit us with a deliberate phony energy crisis.
because the dot-coms were imploding, that energy crisis pushed over toward recession.

The markets reacted negatively to Bush's campaign and the prospect of a anti-new economy economy. They were right. The recession started March 2001, five months after we knew Bush had taken power and would gut the smart, fair and balanced Clinton economic policies.
