David, No, I'm not labelling you, merely stating an observation of the fact that many economic theorists refuse to admit free trade is severely damaging many hard-working average Americans. I'm not aware whether or not Australia's unemployment rate is up at this time--just noticed your location. I have noticed, however, complaints on Aus websites about the proliferation of foreign companies acquiring former Aus owned concerns. As Roger Simmermaker explains, excessive foreign ownership of businesses does not benefit the native population of that country. That's one of the reasons free trade has damaged U.S. economy. Is Australia currently experiencing economic difficulties? Are you an Aussie or an offshore yankee? I ask because I'm aware both nationalities can get very passionate about certain issues--must be the shared Celtic roots.
