Personally, I don't see any reason not to expect people to accept the consequences of their decisions.

We've gone around on this one before. It isn't good social policy to punish people for their carelessness by making them raise children. We just finished talking about rotten parents. As long as we can't force them to give up the babies they produce to proper parents, then you'll just have to punish them some other way. Childbirth as punishment is just plain stupid.
