Are you suggesting a national debate on each item and the lengths we should go to provide adequate security? On TV? Do we tell the Government how to do their job in detail? Or just get a public OK for doing the various things?
Regarding the people who hate Bush worse than the terrorists~~It would be MOST interesting if there was a public lottery with a drawing of maybe 100 people Nationally who think this way. These people could all go to an event, and EACH one tell America what they would do. EACH person would be responsible for a topic, specific agreed upon beforehand. Someone would draw "Containers to US", one would "Small aircraft potential chemical/bio spraying", "Water supply protection"...etc. They could provide the pros and cons of each idea as well.
Have them put their "money where their mouth is" in other words.
I'd be OK with a National ID card, if there was a way to prevent it from being illegally made so as to be used as false ID.
More air marshals per plane won't work, IMO. If people KNEW we had 2 (or pick any number) on a flight, there will be a way found to circumvent it. Better that they know there are surprises for them if an attempt is made...They shouldn't know how many or what surprises ahead of time.

Water...How to police every inch of all shorelines in the country?
Ports...Should we hire inspectors for EVERY single container?Are random checks enough? Will the unions allow inspectors to inspect the inspectors?
and speaking of Ports....what would you do to protect the Ports from EVERY single ferry, sailboat, cruiser, tug, barge, and other larger ships? Do you think anyone of these could have explosives in them? Or bio or chemical items?
Illegals: Keep them out. But how? How to stop the lawyers from stopping the US from trying to keep them out?
