Mariah Energy Corp. featured in Global Television Presentation on Alberta Innovation

CALGARY, Nov. 7 - Mariah Energy Corp., a Calgary-based developer
and manufacturer of emission reducing, and cost saving on-site heat and power
systems, will be featured on Global Television's presentation of 'Alberta
Innovation' airing November 8th at 7 PM, mountain time.
These on-site heat and power units, called Heat PlusPower(TM) systems,
use an extremely low emission microturbine by Capstone Turbine, and
incorporate Mariah's own Heat Recovery Unit to capture waste heat and convert
it into useable heat for domestic hot water purposes. The systems provide on-
site heat and electricity to facilities that demand heat throughout the year.
Such facilities include recreation centres, swimming pools, hotels, multi-unit
residential complexes, extended healthcare facilities, agricultural
applications, light industrial processes, etc.
Mariah is a finalist for the Alberta Science and Technology Foundation's
Outstanding Leadership in Alberta Technology Award. The winner is to be
revealed at the ASTech Awards Gala this evening at the Telus Convention Centre
in Calgary, Alberta. As an ASTech finalist, Mariah was selected to take part
in Global Television's project.
Global's hour-long Alberta Innovation program will air throughout
Alberta. Finalists and previous winners of the ASTech Awards will also be
highlighted.
"Mariah Energy enjoyed taking part in this project, as one of our goals
is to increase the knowledge base on distributed generation here in Alberta
and throughout North America," said Mariah's president and CEO, Paul Liddy.
Municipalities and facility owners in Alberta have embraced the Heat
PlusPower technology. Nine Heat PlusPower systems have been installed in the
Province to date of the thirty-five installations.
The Heat PlusPower system provides the benefits of emissions reduction
and cost savings. Compared to traditional coal-fired plants, the system
significantly reduces CO2 and NOx emissions. The overall energy efficiency is
up to, and over 80%, allowing customers to save up to 25% on their utility
bills.
