China and India have that kind of power and have used it.

India invaded East Pakistan and set it free from Pakistan in 1971. It holds Kashmir in defiance of the UN. It intervened militarily in Sri Lanka and the Maldives back in the '80's.

China invaded Vietnam in 1979 apparently to punish the regime for siding with the USSR over China. China invaded Tibet in 1949 and has been swamping the country with ethnic Chinese immigrants. friendsoftibet.org

If you think China or India or anyone else in the world would be influenced by some sort of "precedent" in which America gave the UN a veto over our foreign policy, you're very naive.

I hate the precedent og allowing a big country to go in and do what it likes to a small country, in disregard of the UN, and its rules
The UN did not authorize any military action against Serbia. Do you hate that we intervened there?
