he got out some BS about his "household employment" data and Stark REALLY lit into them then.

Called Kudlow's obsession with his "'household employment" stat ... Kudlow is trying to coin that "new employment measure" as his own "invention," IMO. To help along the Bush Dept of Labor with some more "cheerful" stats.

I've been harping on Kudlow's bogus "household employment figure" for months.

Anybody can immediately see what household "employment" really is- a bunch of unemployed white collar workers who call themselves consultants. I'm sure Kudlows audience is also aware of this key employment statistic and what it *really* is.

The problem in Northern California which is Stark's district is that we really don't have much of a middle class in the tradional sense. It is all professionals, engineers mostly. And then the service businesses that do exist need the engineers salaries to work. The whole area is devasatated in the employment area and I'm sure Stark is hearing from his constituency.

I want the economy to improve more than most people, but at this point I'd settle for some honesty in the numbers the gov puts out. Why is it that the WH has employment revised upward for THREE MONTHS and Challenger, Gray and Christmas (who are paid to track these things) sees nothing of the sort.
