Sony already has their own propietary copy protection

Haven't you read that Sony's solution was defeated with a black magic marker? Why I thought a self-proclaimed "GRANDMA" like you would have already known that. Why don't you call your imaginary son and ask him.

probably set this whole product back 6 months to a year since it will probably take at least that long to rehab market wise, in my opinion.

It has been stated that it worked exactly as it was designed to and has been linked to reducing piracy on the Anthony Hamilton CD. Here is an excerpt from the USA today article:

Though Jacobs hasn't reversed SunnComm's stock slide, BMG is sticking by the company. BMG considers SunnComm's system "an important first generation of the next generation of technology," says spokesman Nathaniel Brown.

He offers proof from the sales of the Hamilton CD. Unprotected CDs typically see sales drop 35% to 45% in the second week, as pirated versions circulate. Sales of the Hamilton CD fell just 23%.

Keep shorting it, you only let me buy more at lower levels.

Thanks Grandma Kenny.

My reply (below) to that post was promptly deleted off of the STEH cheerleader board on IH, the only board that Peter endorses and recommends investors use for info and discussion BTW

zstevek, of course your right that Sonys old first generation copy protection was defeated like that, Sunncomm is providing a much better solution since now users only need to touch their shift key to render it useless, no more messy magic markers, no more marked up CDs that you cant sell to the used CD store, ROTFLMAO!
