Regarding the part-time work and the pension fund. Currently part-time workers get pension fund benefits, under UPS's plan they would not. This would be further reason to use part-time employee's instead of full-time.

According to what the company says this is completely untrue. Under UPS's proposed pension plans benefits for both full- and part-time employees would increase and the years of service to vest would decrease.

BTW, about what other companies could one make arguments that part-timers' retirement and fringe benefits were being cut? Most part-timers don't even get benefits.
