Hi Ish; Re: "Two different situations. The Palestinians have been attacking the Jews for decades. In Iraq the terrorists have also killed Iraqis and groups that are trying to help them, ie. Doctors Without Boarders, Red Cross and the UN."

But what you're providing evidence for is that the Iraqis are less selective in their terror targets, and are therefore presumably more addicted to terror than the Palestinians. This supports my point, which is that the Iraqis are every bit as nasty as the Palestinians, if not more so.

Unlike the Iraqis, the Palestinians are not convinced that the UN (or US) is plotting to steal their oil. They don't have any. But despite this difference, it is not a fact that the Palestinians have not attacked groups that are "trying to help them". For example, the US is not occupying Palestine, but Palestinians nevertheless recently blew up a car that was escorting a US diplomat on a mission to give scholarships to Palestinians. Here's a reminder:

Three Americans Killed in Gaza Explosion
Washington Post, October 15, 2003
A huge roadside bomb exploded in the midst of a United States diplomatic and security convoy traveling in the northern Gaza Strip early Wednesday, killing at least three U.S. citizens who were employed as private security guards by the embassy in Tel Aviv, officials said.
...
No credible claim of responsibility for the attack was made, but many analysts said it was likely that whoever carried it out knew that Americans were in the convoy and deliberately targeted them. The large, silver Suburban sports utility vehicles were not marked, but they were well known as the type of car used by U.S. diplomats when they travel in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
...
The U.S. Embassy advised all Americans to leave the Gaza Strip after the incident, which came a day after the United States vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution that would have condemned Israel for building a controversial fence around the West Bank, and as Israeli soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip continued a five-day anti-tunnel operation in which eight Palestinians were killed and more than 230 homes were destroyed.
...
Today's attack occurred around 10:30 a.m., shortly after two vehicles with U.S. Embassy personnel and private security guards passed through the northern Erez crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. They were joined by a third car carrying Palestinian officials. Kurtzer said the convoy was headed to Gaza to interview Palestinian candidates for a Fulbright scholarship.

Also note that I included a quote showing UN support for the Palestinians, which is why the UN is largely left alone in Palestine. If the UN had not helped the US sanction and then occupy Iraq, the Iraqis would probably feel more friendly towards the UN.

Simple logic would suggest that if we matched our policies towards Iraq and Palestine to the UN policies towards Palestine (but not the UN policy towards Iraq), we would be targeted less frequently by terrorists.

Before the war, simple logic suggested that if we ran a foreign policy that was similar to that of the Israelis (occupying an Arab country), we would be rewarded with the same problems that the Israelis endure.
