Yeah.
I've been reading about the non-miraculous elements of the Texas "miracle" for some time now. Any time someone comes down the pike with THE answer for education, you know you're about to get taken for a ride, because there is no ONE answer. Our student population is amazingly diverse, and deeply needy. There is no one system that can serve it, and no one way to build in "accountability" or "sucesss". I like standards, as a real tool to help teachers focus their teaching, but they shouldn't be a straight jacket, nor should any other tool.

Thanks for posting the article. It needs to be read ny every parents of a student in the US- and THEN those parents need to read more and more and more.
