So do jobs as architects, brain surgeons (usually), I.T. professionals, consultants, engineers, and even lawyers (again, usually).

Correct....and did you see any job growth in those areas....

Last month, the largest payroll gains were in education and health services, which rose by 56,000, retail trade, up 30,000, employment services, up 29,000, and food services and drinking places, which added 23,000 workers

Which of those categories did the unemployed factory workers slide into? What are the odds, in your estimation, that a layed off factory worker has [or will] become a brain surgeon?
