I would like to know how law enforcement is going to catch people not going through a licensed dealer. Today they use entrapment or informants, which are two pretty poor methods. Law enforcement can't even enforce the gun laws we have now against criminals and the liberals want even more laws that they can't enforce against criminals. All these idiot laws under the theory of "we don't care of they work or not, at least we are doing something" is just reprhensible. Its irresponsible to be messing with law abiding citizen rights without any scientific evidence between cause and effect of proposed laws and enforcement actions on criminals. Thats like doing structural engineering without a license and putting a lot of people's safety at risk. Can you imagaine a liberal saying, "we don't care if these columns are safe or not, at least we are building a needed building for <insert your favorite minority group here such as "the homeless", or more correctly "alcoholic bums". The gun fingerprinting is a prime example. Guns are already traceable through the SERIAL NUMBERS and BATF can restore ground off numbers in the laboratory if such a trace is needed. But the liberals in the quest "to do something anything", in a knee jerk reaction without any careful thought whatsover results in do-nothing schemes. Maryland liberal legislators are a good example. They bought the fingerprinting nonsense. They paid $10 million dollars for the sytems plus the salaries of those that use it. Since 1998 when they bought it, they have solved exactly ZERO crimes with it. Or how about Canada's national firearms registration. Cost of $1 billion dollars so that Government can trace guns to law abiding citizens. Good thinking, what about tracing guns to criminals?
