"Pretty much everyone imprisoned in the US is guilty of a crime. "

But we criminalize stupid things, and we do it in ways that discriminate against the poor, and against racial minorities. Do you know how many people are imprisoned in this country? I wonder. Guess how many of our citizens are imprisoned for victimless crimes- like drug crimes. It's astounding, expensive, and unjust- as well as being the antithesis of freedom.

I can and do find faults with other countries- but the US is not the "best" nor the most "just" country. It is somewhat free, but only if you define freedom in a libertarian sense- you have a great deal of freedom in this country to suffer. In other Western countries one has less freedom to suffer, and to live in poverty- and that can be a positive trade off for capitalist freedom. imo

And our justice system is a joke, with justice going to the person who can afford it.
