>>>"...I don't like apathy either but I think a misinformed voter may even be worse...."<<<

You don't think all of that obscene money aimed at a tiny sliver of the electorate, about 10 percent, is not meant to "misinform" voters? The Dems are gonna vote the Dems; the GOPs are gonna vote the GOPs--that's about 40 percent of who can vote; the other half won't vote--that's about 90 percent of the vote.

So what's left?

About a 10 percent independent voter base. And all of the money raised is used to do anything it can to influence that tiny sliver of the electorate. Many of them end up voting on imagry, rather than on substance.

And how do they target them, these independent voters sitting on the fence, wondering which way to vote?

The money gets aimed at those independent voters who reside in targeted states that'll help to tip the difference on the electoral college map. So all of that obscene money isn't even aimed at all of the independents, only toward those who reside in certain states.

And this works so long as half of the people who could vote are: a) bogged down by doing drugs and feeling like society outcasts (believe me, standard politicians just love this group--it's like a free ride); b) unable to leave their tv sets or the temporary comfort they found from working a hard and laborous job; c) by being hung up on sex and celebretry thinking as more important than finding out which political candidate to support; or, d) by being so apathetic that they think that their vote won't make a difference because "all politicians are alike."

Conclusion: So long as the half of the people are 'kept' from voting, manipulation power politics works very well. And the Republicans know this very well when it comes to the national political stage.
